Symbolically adopt our Bald Eagles, Liberty & Indy!
Liberty & Indy live in our aviary. They love to welcome visitors with their cheerful whistles as our guests come through the Broadway gate! Both of our girls were rescued after sustaining injuries in the wild and were not able to be released. They enjoy feasting on fish which their keeper prepares for them each day.
Bald eagles are found throughout North America, typically by large bodies of water. They were listed as endangered in 1967, when there were less than 500 nesting pairs. Strong endangered species and environmental protection laws, as well as conservation efforts, brought their population back from the brink of extinction. Today, bald eagles are listed as Least Concern with increasing population on the IUCN Red List.
