Symbolically adopt our Three-banded Armadillo, Gwenivere!
Gwenivere is one of our education animals, and can be frequently be found out in the wings with our docents. She uses her acute sense of smell to find her favorite snack--mealworms! Gwen is part of a very important program, the Species Survival Plan, which helps to conserve three-banded armadillos in the wild.
Three-banded armadillos live in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay, in grassy or marshy areas between scattered forestland. They are the only species of armadillo that can roll completely into a ball! Three-banded armadillos are listed as Near Threatened with a decreasing population on the IUCN Red List.
