What is it about axolotls that make them so cute?  We think it's Mudkip's adorable smile! Or maybe it's their feathery gills?  Either way, Mudkip captures the hearts of our guests while peaking out from underneath the rocks in his habitat in the Reptile Wing.

 Axolotls are found in Lakes Chalco and Xochimilco in the Valley of Mexico.  They are one of the few vertebrate species in the world that is capable of complete regenerate of body parts!
