Amur Leopards, Kolya & Liski

Symbolically adopt our Amur Leopard family!

Kolya and Liski are the breeding pair of Amur leopard participating in the Species Survival Plan program at the Staten Island Zoo.  Everyone at the Zoo was thrilled with our first successful birth, when Ussuri joined the family in April of 2019!  Ussuri has moved on to hopefully have his own family, but Kolya & Liski still reside in their habitat here at the Zoo.  Our leopards enjoy climbing their trees, splashing in their pool, and interacting with all the enrichment their keeper gives them.

Amur leopards are the rarest cat in the world.  They live in far east Russia, on the Korean peninsula, and in north-eastern China in temperate and broadleaf forests. Due to considerable conservation efforts, their population has gone from less than 30 to close to 90 in the wild.  Amur leopards are listed as Critically Endangered on the IUCN Red List.
