Our capybaras, Stef & Andy, are shy but sweet.  But don't ignore them--both have their own unique vocalization if you aren't paying attention to them!  Andy barks when she sees someone approaching, while Stef gives quiet squeaks to make sure you notice her.  Being herbivores, they love snacking on broccoli.

Capybaras are the largest species of rodent in the world, weighing up to 145lbs!  Ranging throughout South America, they are only found where water is easily accessible.  Their partially webbed feet, and eyes, nostrils, and ears on the top of their head, they are perfectly suited to semi-aquatic life!
