Symbolically adopt our Hoffman's Two-Toed Sloth Family!

There are four members of our sloth family here at the Staten Island Zoo--mom CC, big sister Waffles, little brother Dunkin, and Aunt Jesse!  They can be found "hanging around" is several spots throughout the Zoo.  Most of their day is spent sleeping and eating.  Dunkin has a sweet tooth--he loves his grapes, but throws his broccoli on the ground!

Hoffman's two-toed sloths are native to Central and South America.   They live in lowland forests and high altitude rainforests where there is continuous canopy.  They spend most of their lives hanging from branches, eating, resting, and even giving birth upside down!  Hoffman's Two-Toed Sloths are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
