Shirley & Lewis live in the middle of the Zoo, where you can see them from above and below the water!  Like most otters, our duo loves to snack on fish.  They spend their days swimming in their pool and through their firehose curtain, before relaxing with a snuggle and a sweet grooming session!

North American River Otters live throughout Canada and the United States, in freshwater and coastal marine habitats, such as rivers, lakes, marshes, swamps, and estuaries.  They are tolerant to a variety of environments, including cold and warm latitudes, and high elevations.  North American River Otters are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.
