Symbolically adopt our Striped Burrfish, Aaron Burr!

Just like his namesake, Aaron Burr the Burrfish is native to the tristate area!  But don't worry, there is no Alexander Hamilton here at the Zoo.  Our Burr is carefree, spending his days exploring our Atlantic Coastline tank.  

Striped burrfish can inflate their bodies by taking in either air or water into a extension of their stomach.  They feed on invertebrates such as oysters, barnacles, mussels, and small crabs.   Striped burrfish are listed as Least Concern on the IUCN red list.
